Millard South High School Lockdown OMAHA, Nebraska — Millard South High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after authorities responded to a reported threat inside the school, according to Omaha Police Department officials.
The lockdown was initiated shortly before 9 a.m. after a call to the school indicated that an individual claiming to be armed was inside a restroom. Law enforcement officers immediately secured the campus and conducted a thorough search of classrooms, restrooms and other areas of the building.
Omaha police later reported that no credible threat was found, and the situation does not appear to be legitimate. Students and staff were held in place while officers swept the facility to ensure safety.
Officials have not disclosed additional details about the origin of the call or whether any charges will result. The school has strict lockdown and safety protocols that were activated in response to the report.
